Wanderlust

Short film | Uni project

Wanderlust is a cinematic performance piece documenting the human form moving through both urban and natural spaces.

The choreography stays consistent throughout the film, while the background setting cycles continuously across differing, vibrant settings. The dancer begins and ends within a darkened studio backdrop, and flows effortlessly between vastly different scenes in between. His movement and exploration through these spaces conveys across the idea of freedom and of breaking free from creative restriction that has been set by the impositions around him. His movements combined with the music accentuate both the rigid, autonomous style of contemporary music and media, as well as exploring a natural flow akin to water, and a push to reimagine what makes art unique.
